The Youth Program

Welcome to Macarthur Scout Group Youth Program.

Scouting offers young people a program that contributes to their personal growth, offers leadership development opportunities, develops resilience, and prepares them for the challenges and opportunities of a 21st century global community.

This Scouting experience occurs through the Youth Program. The Youth Program is the totality of what young people do in Scouting (the activities), how it is done (the Scout Method), and why it is done (the Purpose). Activities are seen as the means, rather than a goal, that create opportunities for each young person to develop skills and attitudes, and acquire knowledge.

For detailed information on the youth program visit Scouts Australia.

Our youth program is delivered in four stages:

Joeys (5-7 years) - unfortunately our Joeys Unit (Boomer) is currently inactive due to lack of Leaders

Cubs (8-11 years) - Jumbuck Unit meets on Monday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm.

Scouts (11-14 years) - Orroral Unit meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm.

Venturers (15-18 years) - meets on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-9:00pm.

The program address all 6 areas of personal development and is designed as a linked program across each of the Units as youth members grow up in Scouting.
